Karina Padron is a freelance Director based in New York City & London. Beginning her career in Journalism in Miami, Karina Padron shifted her storytelling focus to Filmmaking in 2016. Padron graduated with a BFA in Film & Television from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Her work spans Captured Lived Performance, Music Videos and Short Films. Padron’s served as the Director and Editor of the Stage for Screen Film, Teenage Wasteland: Thirteen, Fourteen, Fifteen - A one-man show written and performed by David Dean Bottrell (Widow’s Bay, Mad Men, Boston Legal). The film is currently on the festival circuit, premiering at Cinema Diverse: The Palm Springs LGBTQ Film Festival in September.

Other Recent work includes, Brooke DiSpirto’s The Opening (2026), Too Many Zooz’s Caravan (2025), and Thundersmack’s Sax Alone (2025). Padron’s latest short film, Saving Prufrock (2024) - a Miami Gothic retelling of T.S. Eliot’s famed poem - played at, among others, the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, Sunscreen Film Festival, Borrego Springs Film Festival, and won Best Screenplay at the Universal Lens Film Festival in New York. 

Padron has been the On Camera Production Manager for 5 years at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. During her tenure she has piloted the Sitcom Program, Short Film Company Series, and Filmed Showcase. 

Padron will be attending the London School of Economics and Political Science in the fall to pursue a Masters in Media and Communications with a focus on the future of Mediated Live Performance. She hopes to expand her work to capturing West End productions. 
Karina owes everything she’s accomplished to her parents and dog Luke, who live in her hometown of Miami, Florida.
